God Has A Purpose!
I am a stage 4 breast cancer survivor. In 2009 I was diagnosed. Given 6 months to live, I succumbed to chemo and radiation. I lost my right hip. It had metastasized to my hip, back, and liver. I separated myself from life, reduced stress, changes my eating habits and prayed.
The seriousness of stage 4 cancer cannot be denied. The existence of my faithful God and His Son in my life were more real to me. I did suffer much pain, both physically and emotionally, but the scriptures are true and I stood on His Word.
One of the doctors’ students came to me and said, “you were bleeding and bleeding and bleeding.” My first thought was, why is he telling me this? But I heard the Lord say He still had work for me to do on this earth. I prodded through life, being on a very strong opiate patch. I needed it for cancer pain. But I noticed it was affecting my daily life.
My husband of 30 years moved on. Severe depression set in. Some was due to opiates. This was a year of grief, depression and awful anxiety. The withdrawals from getting off it were almost unbearable. Now I understand the plight of a drug addicted person. They need our love and prayers. My desire is to share my story to help others. Allow the pain of your past to give you compassion for those who are experiencing those same situations. Don’t allow it to make you bitter, but allow our God to use it for good because you love Him and are called according to His purpose. That purpose is to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.
